Making the Whisper of an Idea Real
Like most big audacious - and therefore risky and vulnerable - projects, I circled around the idea of hosting a summit for solopreneurs for months. Circulating the idea at networking events and chatting about it at other entrepreneurial programming I was attending and participating in.
I suppose I was hoping that someone else might do it so I could just attend the event I wanted and wouldn’t feel the need to do it myself.
That didn’t happen and I wanted this event to exist so in mid-May of 2026 I decided to do it in the fall of 2026.
And I need to set things in motion right off the bat.
Building a two-day in-person summit, especially from scratch, is a lot of work. I know it. I’ve done it before. And it’s a common refrain when people talk about planning and executing gatherings.
But what is the actual process? What is the actual work required? How do I make decisions? What are all the details and layers that I think about when crafting an intentional gathering of this scale?
Welcome to the Solo Together Summit Build Blog - a series of behind-the-scenes posts detailing the actual work, time, and money required to conceptualize, realize, and deliver an event like this.
