Code of Conduct

BY REGISTERING FOR THE SOLO TOGETHER SUMMIT, YOU ARE CONSENTING TO THE CODE OF CONDUCT.

OVERVIEW

The Solo Together Summit is built on the belief that humans do their best work when they feel safe, seen, and respected. We are committed to creating a summit experience that is welcoming to everyone, regardless of background, identity, or where they are in their business journey.

This Applies to You

This Code of Conduct applies to all attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and organizers across all Summit spaces including sessions, breakouts, workshops, meals, social events, and any adjacent gatherings affiliated with the Summit.

Expected Behavior

We ask everyone at Solo Together Summit to:

  • Engage with generosity. Share your experience openly. Ask questions without judgment. Assume good intent.

  • Respect people's time and attention. Be present in sessions and single task.

  • Honor boundaries. Take no for an answer whether it's a business card, a conversation, a photo, or a connection request.

  • Protect confidentiality. When someone shares something personal or vulnerable in a small group or session, keep it in the room.

  • Credit others' ideas. If you use something you learned or heard at the Summit, say where it came from.

  • Speak inclusively. Avoid assumptions about people's businesses, lifestyles, income, or experience.

  • Email responsibly. Do not add emails to your email list without consent.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following will not be tolerated at Solo Together Summit:

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination of any kind

  • Unwanted physical contact or sexual attention

  • Dismissive, demeaning, or condescending language

  • Sustained disruption of sessions or conversations

  • Unauthorized photography, recording, or sharing of attendee information

  • Predatory networking, unsolicited pitching, or aggressive selling

  • Retaliation against anyone who reports a concern

Reporting a Concern

If you experience or witness something that violates this Code of Conduct, you have options:

  • Speak to a Summit organizer or volunteer.

  • Report anonymously via [form coming soon].

  • Email me directly

All reports will be handled with discretion and taken seriously. You will not be penalized for raising a concern in good faith.

Consequences

Summit organizers reserve the right to take any action necessary to maintain a safe and respectful environment, up to and including removal from the event without a refund.

Note

I wrote this Code of Conduct because naming expectations upfront and in writing is part of how we hold them. Solo Together Summit exists to remind independent workers that community is possible. And community requires care. I’m counting on everyone here to help us build that.
